Stellenrust

Stellenbosch

Stellenrust was established in 1928 and has ever since produced some of the most superb quality wines that the Stellenbosch region can offer.  It consists of about 400ha (200ha planted) of which half is stretched over the Golden Triangle area of Stellenbosch, internationally recognised for some of the best red wine soil in South Africa.  The other half is situated high up in the Bottelary Hills, renowned for its cool climate and late afternoon sea breezes swooping in from Cape Town to nurture both excellent white and red wines.

Stellenrust boasts today with being one of the largest family owned wine estates in South Africa carrying through generations of winemaking skills and the legacy of our motto ‘where excellence meets winemaking’ put forward in every bottle.

Chenin Blanc 2024

This Chenin Blanc shows strong lime and some tropical fruit on the nose with a mineral palate of grape fruit and pear drop making it a great accompaniment to dishes such as smoked chicken salad on a warm summer’s day or thinly sliced carpaccio served on a bed of rocket with a lemon olive oil and black pepper dressing.

Chenin Blanc 2025

A cold and wet winter in 2024, allowed for early budding and foliage development in Spring to create a good environment for the ripening of Chenin Blanc through a dry but cooler 2025 summer. The old bush vines showed their strength in this vintage.

55 Barrel Fermented Chenin Blanc 2019

Grapes for this wine is harvested from a 55 year old single vineyard of Chenin Blanc on the slopes of the Bottelary Hills planted in ironstone, hence the number on the front of the bottle referring to age of the vines in the year the wine was made. This is a weighty, concentrated and complex wild-fermented Chenin that delivers a super-pure yet fleshy wine. Top notes of lemon zest and marmalade botrytis evolve into peachy and tangy nectarine. Focused, clean acidity drives the juicy fruit to a long and honeyed finish. This Chenin Blanc will compliment an array of dishes: from orange infused duck confit to lemon infused Norwegian salmon on a bed of creamed spinach and potato puree.

Artisons The Mothership Chenin Blanc 2024

The wine shows intense white peach and pear drop on the nose which carries forward to a stone fruit palate supported by clean mineral lines and a lees coated acidity.

Artisons The Albatros White Cinsault 2023

It has been named white Rhone in many blind line ups with a nose oozing of apricot, almond and some lanoline. The palate is rich yet elegant and filled with white peach and glossy pear drop flavours.

Timeless 2021

This wine offers a menthol fresh nose with the palate enriched with dark berries, cassis, some mint chocolate and also a lingering finish with well balanced tannins concentrating on the mid-palate. Can’t compliment anything better than a fillet of beef or rack of lamb – this is a wine not for the faint hearted and not for faint food.

Cornerstone Pinotage 2023

This wine offers raspberry, ripe peach and black cherry flavours with subtle oak nuances, a warm succulent palate and delicate lingering sweet and sour finish with lifted acidity. A great partner to spicy food such as Thai green curries or traditional Cape Malay bobotie.

Artisons After Eight Shiraz 2022

It is clear from the nose where the wine got its name. The concentration of violets, black pepper, blue berry and mint from that small spot of the vineyard oozes out of the bottle. A true reflection of site with fresh acidity supporting lush fruit and mint chocolate spice. This After Eight Shiraz is to be enjoyed preferably after 8 (am or pm – you choose) with anything from mint chocolate to rack of lamb or a thick cut steak.
