Du Toitskloof

Du Toitskloof Wines

Iconic moments happen around tables and over the past few decades, Du Toitskloof has earned and enjoyed a profound place at South African tables. When the founders of this Breedekloof brand dreamt of their young, innovative winery – they knew that the journey was as important as the destination.

Du Toitskloof was established by 6 wine farmers as a co-operative in 1962 and in the early 1990s, they soon cultivated a reputation as a progressive brand from the onset, not only in the innovative winemaking disciplines introduced at the cellar, but in its commitment to social development as a Fairtrade producer. The winery builds on three principles; the belief in always delivering a product of utmost quality, consistently, without compromising ethically.

Quest Brut Cap Classique

A scintillating Blanc de Blanc with a light gold colour. The wine has an intense nose of stone fruit and citrus while brioche and bubbles effervesce with ecstasy. The dry palate is filled with yeasty flavours, sparkling with subtle lemon and white peach that lead to texture, soft and creamy with a mousse-like effect. An exuberant Cap Classique with high acid that pairs well with spice Cape Malay dishes and Bokaap samosas, complementing the acidity and enhancing the sharp citrus characteristics. A fine accompaniment for the best of life’s little luxuries.

Quest Brut Rosé Cap Classique

The Brut Rosé is a blend driven by Chardonnay with a Cinsault caress. Pale pink in colour with delicate bubbles rushing forward, the wine shows a decadent red fruit nose – with characters such as raspberries, strawberries and additional hints of stone fruit. The palate is dry and the wine is crisp. Ample mousse-like bubbles are vivacious with finesse and flair through to the finish. With its dry nature and high acidity, the sparkling wine pairs well with West Coast mussels, brie cheese, or honey nougat with roasted almonds and berries.

Sauvignon Blanc 2023

Complex range of flavours with gooseberry, pear, litchi and guava aromas on the nose with a hint of asparagus. Beautifully balanced, the palate is smooth with a lingering, crisp finish.

Sauvignon Blanc 2024

Complex range of flavours with gooseberry, pear, litchi and guava aromas on the nose with a hint of asparagus. Beautifully balanced, the palate is smooth with a lingering, crisp finish.

Land’s End Sauvignon Blanc 2024

The 2024 Land’s End Sauvignon Blanc harvest in the cool-climate Cape coastal region is delivering exceptional quality with remarkable finesse. The area is renowned for cooler temperatures and a longer growing season allowing the grapes to develop slowly and retain their natural acidity. Shale, limestone, quartz and indigenous Koffieklip soils bring out a very distinctive flavour and aroma. Expect a crisp, mineral-driven profile with layered citrus, kiwi-fruit and subtle herbaceous notes. The wine was released in July of 2024.
2024 – Double Gold Medal – International Michelangelo Wine & Spirits Awards in South Africa.

Quest Old Vine Chenin Blanc 2022

Intense and distinctive floral characteristics, vanilla and classic Chenin stone fruit are aromas that rise in pretty cadent notes. The wine is lemon in colour with a soft mouthfeel, slightly mineral, dry and crisp. An elegant expression of wooded Chenin Blanc that shows restraint and finesse. High in acid, the wine asks for pork belly cooked over apples with toasted almonds, oven roasted chicken or pecan nut and orange pie with a dollop of vanilla ice cream.

Chardonnay 2022

Fruit-driven with citrus and lime flavours on the nose. Dried peaches, vanilla and subtle wood flavours carry through to the palate of this well-balanced wine.

Land’s End Cape Agulhas Syrah 2020

Black pepper, cardamom, allspice brings to mind creaky wooden ships of antiquity, barrels spilling over with spice. The oak imparting clove and smoke. Inky black cherry, plum; luscious black fruit, scented and rich, follows on to the palate. Here, red plum joins the chorus. The fruit is abundant, bouncy, lively along a line of bright, Elim acid. Soft, juicy tannins frame all this generosity, layering and receding, implicitly elegant, a finish like salted plum.
