Le Lude

Franschhoek

The Le Lude Estate specializes in crafting exceptional Cap Classique wines and is the fruition of a dream to create a range of remarkable wines representing a signature style of bubbly that is fresh, expressive, and sophisticated.  For this quest, Le Lude carefully selects vineyards that express unique terroir characteristics, using only the finest cuvées, and allows the wines to mature for a minimum of 36-months to develop full character.

Le Lude one of the world’s most exciting new producers of Cap Classique, which is a complex creation, demanding blending the finest cuvées made from grapes grown on specific terroirs and sites.  Each allows an expression of uniqueness and individuality in fruit quality and wine structure.  To ensure the cellarmaster has the correct palette to practice his craft, Le Lude has planted vineyards on a selection of diverse terroirs and sources grapes from sites best suited to optimum fruit character.

What Is Méthode Cap Classique?

South Africa’s own and unique interpretation of the Champagne-style of winemaking, the first Cap Classique was produced in 1971.  The name implies a natural sparkling wine, wine bottle-fermented in the age-old European tradition to develop the magical sparkle in each bottle.
